At an epoch event hosted at the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo on October 18, 2023, the immediate past Chief of the Air Staff of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Air Marshall Isiaka Oladayo Amao, CFR, psc, DFS, GSS, RBS, GSM, QFI, fndu, MSc, MMSc (Rtd), was given standing ovations and heartwarming applauses by cheering citizens of Osogbo across all walks of life including, but no limited to, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunti Larooye II, the Ataoja of Osogbo.
In his remarks, the Ataoja, HRM Oyetunji, appreciated the roles played by Air Marshall Amao’s mother in raising a highly disciplined and goal oriented son that made Osogbo proud. He also expressed how Air Marshall Amao gave him unforgettable VIP (Very Important People) treatment during his visit to Chief of Air Staff while in office. He expressed the appreciation of good people Osogbo to the retired Chief of Air Staff Air Marshall Amao for his contributions to development of Osogbo.
Chief Ajadi Badmus, the Asiwaju of Osogbo, also narrated how Air Marshall Amao (Rtd) honored the request of Osogbo for proper location of the Air Force Base that was sited in Osogbo during his tenure as the Chief of Air Staff.
Air Marshall Amao (Rtd.), in his response, thanked the Ataoja and all the good people of Osogbo for their love.
